One of Coventry’s most prominent sports teams has been announced as a category sponsor ahead of the upcoming Coventry Business Excellence Awards.
Coventry Rugby Club is a rugby union side who compete in the RFU Championship. Having been promoted in 2018 the team consolidated their position in the second tier of professional English rugby last season finishing eighth.
At the awards, which takes place on Thursday 19 September at the Ricoh Arena, the club will be backing the Professional Services Awards – just one of the 14 categories up for grabs on the night.
This award will be presented to a company who has demonstrated strengths in service excellence, business growth, innovation and technology.
Toby Costar is the Head of Commercial Operations and explained why they decided to come on board as a category sponsor.
“We chose to sponsor this award because it reflects our aims and ambitions as an organisation, to provide outstanding service to all our supporters, clients and customers,” he said.
“Being shortlisted for an award is a massive achievement in itself and winning then becomes the icing on the cake. Everyone who gets nominated and shortlisted has worked extremely hard to be in that situation in the first place and should be congratulated.”
Companies of all sizes and from across a number of sectors will be in attendance at the awards which recognise businesses success throughout the region.
Mr Costar highlighted what the main skills are to succeed in the world of business.
“It is really important for local businesses to support community events such as this, as it entrenches the connections that make the whole area the special place that it is” he explained.
“These events give our business the opportunity to celebrate the successes of our peers, to gain inspiration for our own ambitions, and to enjoy an excellent occasion.”
