The home of the UK’s biggest rugby union teams and host to some of the world’s biggest musical acts Ricoh Arena has confirmed sponsorship of the upcoming Coventry Business Excellence Awards.
Since 2014 the arena has been Wasps’ home ground for both their rugby and netball teams and hosted more than 850 events.
As well as providing the backdrop to the business awards, which will unfold on Thursday 19 September, Ricoh Arena are also proud to be joining the stellar list of event partners.
Stuart Cain managing director at Wasps Rugby/ Ricoh Arena said they are always looking for ways to celebrate regional business. He said: “Thousands of businesses support Ricoh Arena/Wasps every year by engaging and working with us and so we felt that sponsoring these awards was particularly fitting and an opportunity to celebrate these companies.
“We’re extremely proud to sit at the heart of a region whose business community is thriving and is packed full of potential across a range of sectors, and it’s important that we shout about it as a collective business community.”
Mr Cain went on to highlight ways in which they support the regional business community.
“Last year we welcomed more than 1.6 million people across 857 events, helping to drive the regional economy with surrounding businesses benefitting from this,” he explained
“We recently welcomed 130,000 people through our turnstiles within a three-week period for two Spice Girls concerts, Monster Jam and a Bon Jovi concert. Based on previous concert figures, each Spice Girls concert brought £755,000 worth of economic benefit to the area.
“We are a big employer in the area and enlist the expertise of a range of different local companies to provide services to the venue, which is something that we are proud of.”
